Our Story ("the app") is developed by an independent developer, BMIT MOB. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with your information.
Dates, memos, favorite moments, private notes, photos, places, moods, milestones and settings are stored in the app's private storage on your iPhone. They are part of your normal iPhone backup, which is controlled by you and Apple. Deleting the app deletes this data.
Off by default. When you turn it on, your story is synced through Apple's CloudKit to your own private iCloud database, which only your Apple Account can access. It never goes to our servers (we have none).
To show your widgets, the app keeps a small copy of what they display on your iPhone, in storage shared only with its own widgets: your day count, upcoming milestones, and the titles and one small photo of a few dates. Memos and private notes are never included. While the app lock is on, the widgets show only your day count and milestones.
When you search for the place of a date, the text you type is sent to Apple Maps search. If you choose "Use current location", your location is read once (with your permission) and Apple's geocoding service turns it into a place name. Both requests go directly to Apple, under Apple's privacy policy. The coordinate is then stored only with that date on your device. The app never tracks your location.
Photos you add are chosen with the system photo picker and copied into the app's private storage. The app does not request access to your whole photo library.
If you turn on the app lock, authentication is handled entirely by iOS. The app never receives or stores biometric data.
Optional local notifications only (milestones, "On this day"). They are created on your iPhone and never contain your memos or notes.
Files leave your device only when you export or share them yourself: the PDF of your story (never includes private notes), the backup folder (JSON + photos, includes private notes — keep it somewhere safe) and memory cards. Restoring a backup reads only the folder you choose.
Our Story Pro, seasonal theme packs and tips are processed by Apple. We do not receive your payment details.
The "More Apps" screen loads the developer's public app list from Apple's iTunes Lookup API. Only your App Store country code is sent; no personal data.
Our Story does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children.
