TrackKeep – GPS Route Recorder ("TrackKeep", "the app") is designed so that your location history stays with you.
Nothing. TrackKeep has no account, no server, no analytics, no advertising and no third-party SDKs. We never receive your location, your trips or any personal data.
TrackKeep uses your device's location only while you are recording a trip (after you tap Start, until you tap Stop). With "Always" permission, the app may also be relaunched by iOS to resume a recording that was interrupted.
Recorded points, waypoints and notes are stored only on your device, in the app's private storage. They are included in your normal iPhone/iCloud device backup, which is controlled by you and Apple.
Files leave your device only when you export or share them (GPX, CSV, GeoJSON, KML, images).
If "Name trips from place names" is on (default), the app asks Apple's geocoding service (Apple Maps) for the names of the start and end points of a finished trip. Only those two coordinates are sent, directly to Apple, under Apple's privacy policy. You can turn this off in Settings.
Motion activity and barometric altitude are read on-device to save battery when you stop and to measure elevation. They are never sent anywhere.
Local notifications only (e.g. "Recording needs attention"). They never contain your location.
In-app purchases are processed by Apple. We do not receive your payment information.
The "More Apps" screen loads the developer's public app list from Apple's iTunes Lookup API. No personal data is sent.
TrackKeep does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children.
Delete a trip in the app, use Settings › Delete all trips, or delete the app.
